Dupely

Snap a product, get affordable dupes

Photograph a fragrance, a lipstick, a bag, a pair of shoes or a watch. In a few seconds Dupely names the product, tells you what defines it, and finds up to three cheaper alternatives — each with a similarity score, what you keep, what you give up, and roughly what you save.

Identify

It names the product before it recommends anything

The brand and the product name come first, over your own photograph, with a confidence badge and one line explaining why — the squared flacon, the weighted stopper, the typeset label. Then up to six attributes that actually define the thing: notes and concentration for a fragrance, materials and hardware for a bag.

A guess is never dressed up as an answer. If the photo shows something that is not a product, or the model cannot name a brand it can see, Dupely says that instead of confabulating a plausible label.

Dupely result screen: the fragrance identified as Noir No. 9 Eau de Parfum by Maison Verre, with an approximate price of $118, a 93% confident match badge, the reason it was recognised, and its top, heart and base notes.

Compare

Up to three dupes, with the trade-off spelled out

Each alternative is a comparison card — original against dupe, a similarity percentage, the price difference, and two short lists: what you keep and what you give up. A cheaper perfume that loses the drydown is a different proposition from one that loses the bottle, and the card says which.

Not everything is in front of you. Typing a product name runs the same analysis and returns the same card — a scan is a scan whichever way it started.

Dupely home screen: a guide frame for the camera, a Choose from library button, a field to type a product name instead, and a row of sample products to try.

Prices

Approximate, in your currency, and honest about it

Every figure is an approximate US retail price, and it is labelled as one everywhere it appears. Reading in a language whose readers do not think in dollars adds a second line — “approximately ₺5,789 today” — converted with the European Central Bank’s published daily reference rate. The dollar figure always stays, because converting an estimate stacks a day-old rate on top of a guess.

When there is no honest dupe, the answer is none. An empty list is a real result: some things really are one of a kind, and showing you nothing beats showing you a product that does not exist.

Dupely onboarding slide: “Prices are a guide, not a quote — every figure is approximate US retail and changes often. When we cannot name an honest dupe, we say so instead of inventing one.”

Keep

Your scans, on your phone, deletable in one tap

Every scan for your device is in History, searchable by brand, product or the words you typed, and narrowable by category. A heart on any dupe card keeps it, and the Kept tab is the shortlist you built on purpose.

There is no account and no sign-up. A random identifier generated on first launch is what makes your history yours, and Settings → Delete my data removes every scan and every stored photo for it, at once and for good.

Dupely My scans screen: one saved scan for Maison Verre Noir No. 9 with three dupes, a Kept tab beside it, and a hint that long-pressing a scan deletes it.

Before you spend money on it

The answers are estimates. The identification, the attributes, the prices and the suggested alternatives are all generated by a language model. They can be wrong, out of date, or confidently mistaken. Prices in particular are approximations, not quotes from any seller — check anything that matters before you buy it.

Dupely is not affiliated with any brand. Product and brand names appear only to describe the items being discussed. Dupely is not endorsed or sponsored by any of them, no suggestion in the app is a claim about a brand’s own products, and all trademarks belong to their owners.

Dupely is a shopping aid and a starting point for your own research. It is not a valuation, an authentication service, or advice.
